Mohamed Abo Ali

• I am currently a third year medical student at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. I am a doctor candidate for May 2019. I graduated from NYU Tandon with a BS/MS in Chemistry. I specialized in Materials Chemistry and have published three papers while in college.
• I Have been tutoring high school and college students for nine years. I take the subject at hand and break it down into simple components, so that when the student walks out of every lesson, he or she not only has gained new knowledge, but he or she has also strengthened his or her foundation through the use of mnemonics, visual aid, and/or video representation.
• I tutor SHSAT, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, both on high school and college levels.

Jennifer Shmukler

• I am currently a senior at the Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College, majoring in economics with a focus in Russian/Slavics studies. Starting in August, I will be attending the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai with the hopes of becoming an orthopedic surgeon.
• Outside of my academic life, I love to travel, and I hope to visit all 7 continents in my lifetime. I am also an avid food-lover, and I ballroom dance whenever I get the chance.
• I tutor SAT Math and English, Regents Geometry, Trigonometry, Regents/AP Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry.

Simon Katz

• I am a Hunter College graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry. I graduated in May 2017, with a focus on the pre-medical track.
• In my freetime, I enjoy playing sports like basketball and football. I also enjoy hiking, traveling, and trying new food.

Michelle Borovsky

• I am currently enrolled in a Combined Plan Program with Adelphi University and Columbia University working towards a Bachelors Degree in Physics from Adelphi University and a Bachelors of Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University.
• Outside of my academic life, my hobbies include playing tennis, piano, and singing.
• I tutor both AP and Regents level Mathematics and Physics, including Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry and Calculus.

Moustafa Abo Ali

• I am currently in my final semester at Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. After I complete this semester, I will be looking forward to attending graduate school, hoping to complete my Master’s degree in Fluids and Dynamics.
• My interests outside of my chosen career are fishing, traveling, and trying new cultural foods/events. This helps keep a diverse mind throughout each exploration.
• I tutor Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Biology/Living Environment, Chemistry, Physics, and many engineering majored courses.

Rita Pozovskiy

• I am a first year student at Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College, and I plan on graduating in June 2021 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Public Policy.
• In my freetime, I enjoy watching movies, reading, and spending time with my friends.
• I tutor mathematics, English, Science curriculum from Kindergarten through seventh grade.

Isaac Blyakher

• I attended the University of Connecticut, where I was able to receive my B.A. in economics and graduated a semester early. I chose to minor in real estate and focused on taking quantitative economics classes during my time at the university in order to pursuit a career in the financial services industry.
• In my freetime, I like to keep up with the financial markets, trade stocks & cryptocurrencies and learn programming. I am also an avid cyclist, who enjoys road trips and playing racquetball.
• I tutor Mathematics at all levels ranging from kindergarten to collegiate, including AP Calculus. I can provide tutoring for Physics and Economics.

Elise Krupoff

• I am currently a senior at St. Edmund Preparatory High School. I successfully completed 4 AP classes and 4IB classes: AP English Literature, AP US History, AP Biology, AP AB Calculus, IB Physics (HL), IB Economics (SL), IB Math Studies (SL), IB Visual Arts. Starting in the Fall, I will be attending Pace University’s joint degree program with SUNY Optometry with the hopes of becoming an Optometrist one day.
• In my freetime, I enjoy visiting modern art museums, attending concerts, skiing, and when the weather allows it: going to the beach.
• I am a tutor in the Homework Help Program.

Richard Kozak

• I am a first year student at Hunter College, where I am majoring in Computer Science. I plan on graduating in June 2021 with a Bachelor’s Degree and then going to Dentistry School following with a specialization in orthodontics.
• In my freetime, I enjoy playing basketball, riding my bike, watching movies, and playing video games.

Halyna Krylyuk

• I am currently a student at Macaulay Hunter, and expect to graduate in 2021 with a degree in psychology. In High School, I maintained a 97 GPA and scored a 356/36 on the ACT.
• I love the arts and frequently visit museums and performances throughout New York. I also enjoy exploring new restaurants, biking and skiing.
• I am a tutor in the Homework Help Program and can teach Math and Reading for grades K-6.

Zachary Chanmin

• My educational background started from Mark Twain Middle School, where I was in the Science talent. For High School, I attended Midwood High School and studied Medical Science Institutes. I am currently in New York University, College of arts and sciences, studying Pre-Med.
• Outside of education, my greatest passion is playing hockey. I’ve been playing for many years at a highly competitive level and it has brought me together with almost all of my closest friends.
• I tutor Math and English classes up to 8th grade as well as Regents Algebra.

Anya fa-d’Aeva

• I got my Bachelors of Science in Physics and Math from Syracuse University, while doing research the whole four years with the LHC. I then enrolled in a PhD track physics program at UMass-Amherst, while working on neutrino research. I then picked up my PhD track neutrino research at Columbia University.
• I am interested in anything that comes my way! I am an avid hiker/swimmer/runner, traveler/explorer, artist (performance and word), and general life enthusiast! I enjoy exploring zen and meditation, as well as being involved in the local Russian community.
• I teach physics and math.

Joseph Nelson

• I have a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the US Naval Academy in 2006 and a Masters in Secondary Math Education from Mercy College (expected 2019)
• Some of my interests include, reading, running, swimming, biking, and gardening. I also enjoy Yoga, Pilates, and Ballroom Dance.
• My tutoring mainly focus on math and all subjects pertaining to: Pre-algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Probability & Statistics, Pre-calculus, Calculus, etc.

Ronald Paley

• I am currently studying Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at New York University’s Tandon School of Engineering.
• Outside of my academic life, I enjoy studying electronics, playing piano, and reading.
• I tutor physics, all levels of mathematics (Regents, AP Calculus, and multivariable calculus), chemistry, organic chemistry, writing, and biology.

George Szamuely

• I received a BSc in Chemistry at University College London. I received an MSc in the History of Political Thought at the London School of Economics & Political Science. I received a PhD in International Relations at London Metropolitan University.

• I read a great deal and am at Strand Bookstore in Manhattan 3-4 times a week. I’m an old movie buff and frequent repertory cinemas. I’m also a keen cyclist: I ride several miles a day every day, whatever the season, whatever the weather. I also love opera.

• I teach all areas of math, up to and including calculus. I teach all areas of History and English. In addition, I teach Philosophy, International Relations and Political Science. I also teach most of the standardized tests, including GMAT, GRE, LSAT, SAT, ACT, SHSAT, ISEE & SSAT.
